Talk: Celebrating National Tea Day

Sunday 23 April

Celebrate National Tea Day (21 April 2017) with a wonderful talk by Malcolm Ferris Lay. With nearly 50 years of tea experience, Malcolm can provide a great insight in the history of tea and how to grow it. Malcolm is responsible for all the teas at the Head of the Arab Heads of State in Qatar. He also takes tea regularly at the Ritz hotel with invited guests who just want to know a little more about tea. On the marriage of Diana Princes of Wales he sent her a special blend of tea made exclusively for her. Malcolm is co-founder of the London History Association which is arranging to have bronze plaques placed in London acknowledging over 350 years of the Tea Trade in London.

The talk will involve tasting pots and demonstrations on how to blend teas. After the talk enjoy a delightful freshly baked afternoon tea in the grand setting of The House. You can view the afternoon tea menu sample by clicking here.
