We’re holding a Model Kit Exhibition Day on 14th March 2010. This is the first time for a number of years that we’ve held a Model Kit event at Shuttleworth and we’re want to establish this as an annual event.
We are keen to attract both clubs and stallholders as well as enthusiasts, so we will be running a number of competitions for the Best model of a Shuttleworth aircraft, the Best 1:32 (or under) scale model, the Best 1:48 (or under) scale model and the Best 1:72 (or under) scale model. Entry prices will be £1 for each model and a number of attractive prizes will be available on the day.
Admission prices will be £10 for adults, but accompanied children under 16 will be free, making this an excellent day out for the family.
In addition to entry to the Model Kit Exhibition day, visitors will also enjoy access to our hangars to see our world famous collection of aircraft and vehicles.
The event will run from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm on the 14th March.

MODEL COMPETITION - WIN A FLIGHT!
There are four classes for our model competition which are open to all aircraft, vehicles or diorama models:
- 1/72 and smaller
- 1/48 and smaller (excluding models in the first category)
- Larger than 1/48
- Best Shuttleworth model – This category is open to any sized model of a Shuttleworth aircraft or vehicle which is (or has been) based at the Shuttleworth Collection. For inspiration look at www.shuttleworth.org
These categories will be judged by a panel comprised of pilots and volunteers from the Shuttleworth Collection between 12am and 2pm and their decision on the day will be final.
First prize for the Best Shuttleworth model will be a flight in an aircraft, kindly donated by Peter Holloway. First prizes in other categories will be tickets to a Shuttleworth Collection event.
You may enter a model into the competition on the day of the event. Each entry is subject to a £1 entry fee.
