1962 Wallis WA-116 Agile “Little Nellie”

This exhibit

This aircraft was one of the Beagle Aircraft built WA-116s and was British registered as G-ARZB.  It was flown by Wing Commander Wallis in the film, doubling for Sean Connery who played James Bond. For the filming several pyrotechnic effects were added including missiles and flamethrowers! A second WA-116 was converted for use in the studio with close ups of Sean Connery.

After the filming ‘Little Nellie’ was regularly flown at air displays across the country before being retired and displayed statically in various James Bond exhibitions.

This aircraft features in the ‘James Bond’ movie You Only Live Twice.
