Library, Research & Archives

The Shuttleworth Library houses a good selection of books on aviation. It is managed and staffed by a team of dedicated and experienced volunteers who can undertake or assist with research in particular areas. In the first instance, queries can be researched via the Shuttleworth Collection Online Library and Archive Catalogue Bleriot.

The library is currently closed. For use of the library please arrange a visit by prior appointment with the Library team (available on Tuesdays from 10.00-15.00). There is no access to the Library on a ‘walk-in’ basis, and no books may be loaned to anyone living more than 30 miles from Shuttleworth.

We welcome donations, but due to severe constraints on available space we ask that prospective donors please contact the Library & Archives Team in advance.*

*Please note that the Visitor Centre staff will be unable to accept donations delivered without prior agreement and arrangement.

Archive Research Service

The online catalogue (Blériot) is part of the Archive Research Service. It contains in excess of ten thousand records of books, letters and photographic material.
