D-Day Dakotas make for Festival success
Shuttleworth’s Flying Festival welcomed seven Dakota type aircraft from D-Day Squadron who have made the transalantic flight undertaking their own historic 75th anniversary as part of the Daks over Normany commemorations. The Dakotas’ arrival made for an impressive spectacle on our grass runway!
‘That’s all, Brother’ pilot Doug Rozendaal (pictured with Shuttleworth engineer Rory Cook) took time to explore our Collection, filming a piece with Plane Resurrection TV.
A crowd of over 5000 visitors enjoyed ‘uncovered’ with the Dakota aircraft and crew before flying began at 14.00. Highlights included the Bristol Blenheim, and a show dominating performance by the Red Arrows.
