ModelAir – Scale Weekend 2023
For lovers of model flying, the ModelAir Scale Weekend offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy radio controlled, free flight, and control line flying. Watch the action or bring along your own and take part…
All disciplines of models (Control Line, Free Flight, Radio Control and Radio Assist) are encouraged, although model and flying style should be in keeping with the historic ethos of the Shuttleworth Collection.
Weight restrictions apply: RC: 15kg; RC assist: 10kg; CL: 5kg; FF: 500g.
The event is suitable for all ages and dogs on leads are welcome within appropriate areas of the flight line. There will be trade and car boot areas.
All modellers flying model aircraft at ModelAir events, of any discipline, must carry proof of current BMFA insurance while flying, and please be prepared to show this to a ModelAir Marshal, if requested.
Refreshments and catering will be available from the Runway Café and Refuelling Station.

Competitions
Although some pilots take competitions seriously, the ModelAir event and its competitions are intended as a light-hearted way of recognising the skill and expertise of modellers. On some occasions, awards have been won by pilots who did not know they were being judged – much to their surprise and delight, of course!
Competitions are usually run on the Sunday of each event. To be included in the competitions, models must have been flown successfully.
All pilots please note and abide by new CAA regulations.

This event is operated under BMFA/CAA regulations: the British Model Flying Association (BMFA) is the body elected by the Royal Aero Club to be responsible for all aspects of flying model aircraft in the UK.
