Shuttleworth in Lights 2022

This year our illuminated trail theme is Big, Bold, Colour, and for the first time, we will be shining the spotlight on all six of the world-class Shuttleworth Collection of heritage aircraft and vehicles.

You may choose to begin your adventure with a festive drink from our Coffee Pod, before making your way through our hangars, from 6, through our unique Collection to Hangar 1. Along the way, discover the history of aviation and the story of Shuttleworth, in a world of light and sound like never before.

Make a pitstop at the Runway Café and Gift Shop for festive treats and more; before venturing into the Swiss Garden. This year enjoy a new route and direction around the beautiful garden and listed structures, making the most of the theme with big, bold colour statements throughout. Then head towards our Paddock 4, here you have a choice to either carry on the route or take a visit to Shuttleworth House Christmas Gift Fair (16th, 17th and 18th only). Re-join the route at Paddock 4 and continue through the remainder of the trail in the Swiss Garden, enjoying more of the stunning features and specimen trees, before winding your way back to the  Runway Café and Gift Shop for one last chance to grab some goodies before you leave.

Don’t forget that Glow Sticks and kid’s activity sheets are available from the Box Office, or you can add Glow Sticks to your basket online and collect them upon arrival.

Depending on your speed, the mile-long trail should take between 1.5 – 3 hours.

We ask everyone to keep moving during their experience to avoid any backlog. Parents are asked to keep children with them at all times. Toilets can be found along the trail in several locations. Please wear warm, comfortable clothing and footwear. Most of the trail is on hard standing; however, some grass crossings exist.

The Runway Cafe and Coffee Pod will serve hot and cold drinks, festive treats and snacks until 21:30 each night. The Gift Shop will be open until 21:30 each evening with a wonderful section of gifts, cards, toys and much more. In order to ensure our staff are well rested, we are unable to keep catering and shop areas open past 21.30; therefore recommend guests visit before entering the Swiss Garden. Click links to see menus.

Dogs – We welcome well-behaved dogs on Thursdays Only. All dogs must be on a lead, and all owners must have bags and dispose of pet waste appropriately.
