The Ballroom

One of the most magnificent rooms in The House, the Shuttleworth family called it the Saloon. It boasts a double-height, gold-leaf ceiling, with glass skylights. Features include parquet flooring, a large marble fireplace, and wood panelling.

Sixteen paintings adorn the walls, and the room is lit by a pair of pair magnificent large-cut and moulded glass eighteen-light chandeliers in George III style (image below – the room when the Shuttleworth family were in residence).

The Ballroom can host 110 guests, and is licenced for wedding ceremonies.
