Richard Shuttleworth Murder Mystery

It is 112 years since Richard Ormonde Shuttleworth was born, on 16th July 1909. Guests (and suspects) have been invited here tonight for a meal to celebrate what would have been his 112th birthday. However, some of the guests are interested in more than just the party…

Our suspects all reveal themselves to be in some way related to contemporaries of Richard back in the 1930s. Rumours have passed down over the generations that, after Richard suffered his injury 1936, he returned from South Africa with a ruby of immense value, which he secreted somewhere around the grounds of Shuttleworth. Its whereabouts have been a mystery ever since, and each of them seems to think they have some claim to the jewel and are determined to get their hands on it.

Of great importance is Anne Teek, a historian who claims to hold a vital clue to the whereabouts of the jewel. She is based in South Africa and is therefore unable to make it tonight, but has arranged a live video feed to talk to everyone about the missing jewel.

However, during her video link, she takes a drink from a glass of wine and drops down dead. Each of the suspects is implicated in wanting her dead (for various reasons), and in sending her the case of wine (which arrived anonymously the previous day) and therefore, the investigation begins…
