Shuttleworth in Lights 2024

What is Shuttleworth in Lights?

For 6+ years Shuttleworth has been running the Lights events from the end of November through to mid-December.

When the sun goes down our Garden and Hangars are illuminated in a wonderful display of big, bold, colour, showcasing the wonderful natural features of our landscape and heritage.

The Shuttleworth Trust is a charity so events like these really do help to keep the magic of aviation, automotive and agricultural history and education alive year on year.

We are proud to say all our lights events are produced entirely in-house by our dedicated teams: from maintenance crews to catering staff to weddings and events teams, gardeners, aircraft engineers, vehicle volunteers and many more hands comes together to make these events happen.

We thank you for your support and hope to continue for many years to come!

Showcasing Shuttleworth

Come and explore the world-famous Shuttleworth Collection and Swiss Garden in a way you’ve never seen them before!

Literally shining the light on what makes us unique – our 199 year old Regency style Swiss Garden and our world-famous Shuttleworth Collection full of vintage aircraft and vehicles.

Begin your adventure with a cup of hot chocolate or maybe even mulled wine from our coffee pod before purchasing your glow sticks at the box office and making your way through the gates and into the historic Swiss Garden – lit up in spectacular new ways.

Follys, fountains, bridges, vases, trees & shrubs and mini houses – the Swiss Garden was constructed 199 years ago and continues to surprise to this day – whether you’re a first timer or a life-timer there’s sure to be new views to discover and new features to excite as you meander the intimate route through our quaint historic garden.

Take your time in the gardens before heading through to the Runway Café to be warmed with hot snacks, drinks and treats from the counter – maybe even take a trip into our Gift Shop to pick up those last minute Christmas gifts!

The final part of our illuminated trail – The Collection – takes you through the 100+ years of aviation and automotive history packed into our six hangars; from the WW1 aircraft that soared above no-man’s land to those that have starred in Hollywood blockbusters, steam engines, buses, motorbikes and carriages and so much more – there’s something for everyone!
