Aviation Photography Night Shoot 2024
The popular Shuttleworth Night Shoot returns in 2024
We are excited to be working with Darren Harbar Photography once again for the Shuttleworth Collection Night Shoot 2024.
We will be running the event on Saturday 12 October with three aircraft, not only running their engines, they will also taxi a short distance, enabling a range of different angles to be captured during each run. In addition, where possible, our pilots and ground crew will be in appropriate dress to add a period feel to the occasion. Weather permitting, this will begin with a Shuttleworth Collection WWI Rotary. The Desoutter will then make its night shoot debut followed by the popular Lysander.
We will run a special SOE operation during Night Shoot that will include an agent being dropped off from the Lysander as it sits with its engine running. The French resistance will defend the aircraft whilst this happens, but enemy activity is high in the area, and it’s possible that the Lysander may come under attack. Prepare for something different and few loud bangs may be possible.
Alternative aircraft may be used due to weather and serviceability
In addition to the engine runs/taxi, the three running aircraft will be on the airfield from beginning of the event with some period vehicles and re enactors. Will will also have Steve Green’s every popular ground running rotary engine performing for your cameras.
We will also be applying some special lighting to two of our hangars, and even picking out some other individual aircraft and vehicles for some special illumination. The day will be full of fantastic photo opportunities that are unique to Shuttleworth!#.
The ticket price includes a hot meal (jacket potato with filling) and drink.
The Night shoot is open to anyone with a camera, but it is recommended that attendees have a basic understanding of night photography in order to make the most of the event. The use of flash will not be permitted during the engine run part of the evening and it is recommended that you use a tripod if you have one. The official collection photographers will be on hand to offer advice if needed and there will be a welcome talk from the Shuttleworth team.
