Festival of Flight 2024
Join us as we celebrate 60 years of Shuttleworth air shows at our first Festival of Flight!
We will have three days of entertainment, activities, and displays to celebrate the wonderful achievements of aviation; from the very first flight, to the astonishing technology we see today.
The Shuttleworth Collection is the proud home of a variety of airworthy aircraft, including the world’s oldest aircraft and oldest British aircraft still flying today.
We are also the home of a great collection of iconic racers, warbirds, civilian aircraft, and gliders that will be on display. If all this wasn’t enough, you will also be treated to some fabulous displays from our visiting acts.
Activities for the whole family will be spread across the three days including an exciting air display, outdoor cinema, fun fair, delicious food and drink, tours, a fly in, and more!
Check out the list below for a full breakdown of what will be happening across the three days.

Interactive Discovery Zones
The Discovery Zones at Shuttleworth air displays are buzzing with engaging interactives aimed at all ages.
The very young are really excited to be given the chance to pilot the Joystick Club’s awesome pedal planes. The disappointment felt by those too tall to fit in them is soon tempered by the opportunity to construct and launch their own stomp rocket with YES or to design and build their own chuck-glider with Time & Space Learning.
Simulators are always popular, be it the British Gliding Association’s K13 cockpit simulator, WAHT’s superbly visceral Rocking Nacelle WW1 cockpit sim or the Joystick Club’s incredible Tomahawk and Seneca cockpit sims.
It is not all about flying, though – Shuttleworth’s Discovery Team will always have a really fun activity for you to build and take away, such as their ever-popular pop-pop steam boats or rapid racers. Budding artists of all ages can try their hand at creating a work of art with the Art for All Roadshow. And those who like their creations to be on a smaller scale can sit down with IPMS Brampton for the free Airfix Make n’ Paint workshops.
New for 2024
Build a 1/3 scale Hawker Hurricane with Sci-Hi Education, immerse yourself in the Mark Rutherford School’s Incredible Planetarium, have creative fun with the Charlie Moore Art Club and Time & Space Learning’s Aer0naut School.
