Military Weekend 2024
Interactive ground activities on Saturday 1st, followed by a stunning air show on Sunday 2nd
Our highly anticipated Military Air Show returns this year as a two-day event for the first time!
Join us Saturday 1st for a day full of interactive ground activities followed by the Military Air Show on Sunday 2nd showcasing outstanding and iconic military aircraft which have shaped the course of aviation history.
Our Military Air Show is proud to champion all those who have given their service and lives on land, in the air, and at sea.
There will be plenty for the whole family to enjoy over the weekend including military vehicles, re-enactments, flight simulators, children’s activities, our much-loved military flying display, and more.
Shuttleworth air shows are perfect for all ages, with ground attractions, our Discovery Zones, as well as delicious food and drink that can be located across the whole site.
During your visit you can also take a ride on one of our vintage buses to the Shuttleworth House or visit our beautiful Swiss Garden which holds many horticultural and architectural surprises.
Your entry also includes access to the world-famous Shuttleworth Collection, children’s playground, café, and gift shop.
Children enter for free and early bird tickets for adults are on sale now at a reduced price while stocks last!
What's On
Saturday
Shuttleworth Playground
Take the little ones on an adventure through the Shuttleworth Playground with a range of equipment perfect for ages up to 12.
Interactive Discovery Zones
The Discovery Zones at Shuttleworth air displays are buzzing with engaging interactives aimed at all ages.
The very young are really excited to be given the chance to pilot the Joystick Club’s awesome pedal planes. The disappointment felt by those too tall to fit in them is soon tempered by the opportunity to construct and launch their own stomp rocket with YES or to design and build their own chuck-glider with Time & Space Learning.
Simulators are always popular, be it the British Gliding Association’s K13 cockpit simulator, WAHT’s superbly visceral Rocking Nacelle WW1 cockpit sim or the Joystick Club’s incredible Tomahawk and Seneca cockpit sims.
It is not all about flying, though – Shuttleworth’s Discovery Team will always have a really fun activity for you to build and take away, such as their ever-popular pop-pop steam boats or rapid racers. Budding artists of all ages can try their hand at creating a work of art with the Art for All Roadshow. And those who like their creations to be on a smaller scale can sit down with IPMS Brampton for the free Airfix Make n’ Paint workshops.
New for 2024
Build a 1/3 scale Hawker Hurricane with Sci-Hi Education, immerse yourself in the Mark Rutherford School’s Incredible Planetarium, have creative fun with the Charlie Moore Art Club and Time & Space Learning’s Aer0naut School.
Shuttleworth Swiss Garden
Enjoy a walk through ornate ironwork gates into a delightful Regency and Victorian layered garden. Discover a green and pleasant idyll, with a fascinating history dating back to its creation at the start of the nineteenth century. There is plenty to enjoy in every corner of the garden, whether it be the brightly decorated Indian Kiosk, the quirky Swiss Cottage, or the magical Grotto & Fernery with its own micro climate and unique variety of exotic plants.
