From offering your time to joining a membership or giving whatever donation amount that you can, there are plenty of ways to support what we do here at the Shuttleworth Trust.

Donations
No matter how much you can give, we are always hugely grateful to those who wish to support Shuttleworth financially with a donation.

Membership
We are proudly supported by three fantastic charity organisations who offer financial support, and volunteering time, to the Shuttleworth Trust. Find out more about them and how to join below:
Shuttleworth Veteran Aeroplane Society
The Shuttleworth Veteran Aeroplane Society was established in 1965 to support the Shuttleworth Collection. As well as offering volunteer support, the SVAS also raises essential funds for the Collection - which has so far enabled the acquisition of aircraft such as: the Westland Lysander, Chipmunk, Provost, Super Cub, and Hawk Speed Six.
In 2014, the SVAS were awarded the King’s Award for Voluntary Service for, “Educating the public in the science, practice and history of aviation and motoring by supporting the charitable work of the Shuttleworth Collection”.
The Friends of the Swiss Garden
The Friends of the Swiss Garden was formed in 1992 to support, promote and raise funds for the Swiss Garden. Through their volunteer time, they have supported the Shuttleworth Trust in restoring the garden to the glorious state visitors can enjoy today.
More recently, to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Swiss Garden in 2024, the Friends purchased and reinstated a Diana of Gabii statue in the garden, replacing a previously lost statue from the early nineteenth century.
Airfield Volunteer Fire Service
A CAA regulated rescue and fighting service entirely made up of volunteers, the AVFS is a multifunctional crew, consisting of operational firefighters, control operators and volunteer service support. They provide a critical emergency response, along with other services to the Shuttleworth Trust for events and the Trust’s licensed airfield - the AVFS are the first emergency response to some of the UK, and the World’s, oldest airworthy heritage aircraft.
To support the range of services they provide to the airfield, including their emergency response, they fundraise in to maintain their ageing fleet of emergency vehicles, as well as for PPE and equipment.

Volunteering
We could not do what we do here at Shuttleworth without the dedicated support of over 300 volunteers. With opportunities across a range of teams, from ground crew to education, Swiss Garden, Shuttleworth House and so much more whatever you might be looking to volunteer your time for, you’re likely to find it here.
