By purchasing a ticket, you are deemed to have read and accepted these terms and conditions.

We want all visitors to Shuttleworth to have the safest day possible, but we can only do this with your help. The following terms and conditions are in place to ensure the safety of all visitors, and you are admitted to Shuttleworth under the same operating rules and restrictions applicable to and displayed upon or near any individual elements on site.

If you do not comply with these terms and conditions or the operating rules additionally applicable to individual elements on site, you may be removed from the site by Shuttleworth staff, security or police officers, without any right to a refund. This is without prejudice to any claim that we may have against you or arising out of your actions. Whilst on site at Shuttleworth, you must comply with any reasonable instructions given to you by our personnel or any third party instructed on our behalf. Shuttleworth, acting reasonably, reserves the right to vary these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. By entering the site, you accept that you have a duty to take reasonable steps to ensure your own safety, considering any personal medical conditions. All persons in and around the site should always behave in a safe manner.

 1. These terms

1.1 These are the terms and conditions on which we supply services to you. For details on how we collect and use information you provide to us, see our Privacy Policy.

1.2 Please read these terms carefully before you submit your order to us. These terms tell you who we are, how we will provide products to you, how you and we may change or end the contract, what to do if there is a problem and other important information. If you think there is a mistake in these terms, please contact us to discuss.

1.3 Please note that all flying at air shows and events is subject to weather, serviceability, and operational commitments. All tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable, even in the event of an air show/event cancellation.

1.4 Please note that air show line ups are subject to weather and serviceability. Shuttleworth reserves the right to change the advertised line up at any time without prior notice.

2. Information about us and how to contact us

2.1 We are Shuttleworth Collection and Gardens, part of The Shuttleworth Trust, a registered charity (no. 307534). Our registered office is: Shuttleworth, Alder Drive, Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, SG18 9EP.

2.3 If we need to contact you, we will do so by telephone, email, SMS or by writing to you via the contact details which you have provided to us.

2.4 When we use the words “writing” or “written” in these terms, this includes emails and SMS.

3. Tickets/admissions

3.1 Our site is private property.

3.2 All persons entering visitor attraction area of the site (The Collection, Swiss Garden) and/or attending the site on air shows and event days must pay for admission or hold a valid ticket.

3.3 The sale of tickets by anyone other than Shuttleworth or it’s elected affiliates is strictly prohibited.

3.4 Only persons authorised by us are permitted to sell or offer for sale any items to visitors within our grounds.

3.5 All tickets are non-transferable, not for resale and will be automatically void upon any transfer for value.

3.6 General admission tickets are valid for general admission entry for 30 days from the date shown on your ticket.

3.7 For air shows and special events, tickets purchased are only valid on the date shown on your ticket.

3.8 General admission tickets may not be valid for special events that require a separate admission fee on the date of attendance.

3.9 Tickets may only be exchanged or refunded at Shuttleworth’s discretion. For the avoidance of doubt, tickets are non-refundable if admission is refused or relinquished upon breach of these terms and conditions.

3.10 If tickets are purchased on behalf of other visitors, the buyer accepts these terms and conditions on behalf of every guest and will ensure that these terms and conditions are observed by each member of their group.

3.11 No child or children under the age of 16 will be admitted to Shuttleworth events, air shows or visitor attraction unless they are accompanied by an adult aged 18 years or over, and such child or children must always remain under the supervision of an adult whilst on site.

3.12 If you are booking a concession ticket, proof of ID and eligibility will be required on arrival.

3.13 The price of your ticket shall be the price set at the time we accept your booking, inclusive of any applicable taxes, but exclusive of any booking, collection or delivery fee.

3.14 At our discretion, changes may be made to the advertised programme owing to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

3.15 Please check your tickets carefully on receipt and contact us immediately if there is a mistake.

3.16 Charges booking fees may apply to your tickets. These will be reasonably displayed at the time of purchase.

3.17 Any discounts and special offers may not be available from every sales outlet. Discounts and special offers are subject to availability, not available on all dates and are at Shuttleworth’s discretion. Discounts cannot be combined and where a concession is claimed.

4. Right to refuse entry to or remove from site

4.1 Acting reasonably at all times, Shuttleworth reserves the right to refuse admission to any persons felt unsuitable for on site facilities, ban from entry to the site, or remove from the site without any right to a refund any person whose presence or behaviour may affect the enjoyment and/or safety of other guests or staff or who: acts in an inappropriate and/or undesirable manner whilst travelling to the site whether by bus, coach or other means, where such behaviour has been reported to us by a reliable independent source; has been convicted of a criminal offence relating to Shuttleworth, or civil unrest on Shuttleworth property, which, in our opinion, is likely to affect the safety and/or enjoyment of other guests or staff; uses violent, aggressive, threatening, abusive, discriminatory or insulting words or behaviour or in any way behaves in a manner which may provoke a breach of the peace; climbs or stands upon fences, barriers, walls, safety fences, rock arrangements, ride structures, exhibits or any other buildings on site; enters or attempts to enter any part of the site that is a restricted or prohibited area as determined by Shuttleworth, including the air field, workshops, hangars and staff only areas.

4.2 Shuttleworth reserves the right to initiate legal proceedings or prosecute any person who: is found damaging or defacing any part of the grounds, fences, barriers, walls, structures, collection, gardens, exhibits, fabrics or buildings on site or; has displayed any sign or visible representation of any kind which is, or could be reasonably judged to be, threatening, abusive or insulting or; has previously acted in any manner which has caused any person to report that individual to Shuttleworth or; is attempting to regain admission to the site or has been found inside the site without a valid ticket or; has purchased or obtained any tickets or discount vouchers from an unauthorised source.

4.3 If any guest in breach of any of these terms and conditions is a member of a group, then such group of individuals may also, at Shuttleworth’s discretion, be denied entry or escorted from the site without any right to a refund.

5. On site restrictions

5.1 With the acceptance of service and assistance dogs, dogs are not permitted within the following areas of the site: Visitor Centre, Café, House, Hangars, or Swiss Garden. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the airfield paddocks, parkland and Discovery Hub. Dogs must be always kept on a lead whilst on site.

5.2 Pop-up structures and BBQs are not permitted on site.

5.3 Drone flying of any kind is not permitted on site at any time.

5.4 We reserve the right to confiscate any alcohol brought onto our premises. Persons deemed to be under the influence of alcohol will be asked to leave the site.

5.5 Smoking (including of e-cigarettes) is strictly prohibited other than in the designated smoking areas within the site.

6. Food and drink

6.1 All menu items are subject to availability and may be substituted. We cannot guarantee that any menu items are nut-free. Please ask a member of staff for further details

6.2 In accordance with licensing regulations, you must be over the age of 18 to purchase and/or consume alcohol. You will need proof of ID if you appear to be under the age of 21. Off sales are not permitted.

7. Comments and complaints

7.1 If you have any suggestions, or if you encounter any problems during your visit, please speak to a member of staff whilst you are on site. Problems can more likely be resolved on the day of your visit rather than after you have left the site.

7.2 If you wish to raise a complaint after you have left the site and no complaint was made during your visit, we will require proof of your attendance before we are able to deal with your complaint.

8. Photography and videography

8.1 By accepting these terms and conditions of entry, visitors consent to being photographed, filmed or taped by Shuttleworth or by third parties appointed by them. Shuttleworth and any authorised party may use such images in perpetuity in any promotional, advertising or publicity material in any format whatsoever. You further agree that copyright in these materials rests with Shuttleworth or such authorised party (as the case may be).

8.2 Unless it is expressly prohibited, you are permitted to take photographs and recordings on site provided that these are solely for private use and are not sold or used for any commercial or public purpose.

8.3 By accepting these terms and conditions, you acknowledge that Shuttleworth may on demand have access to photographs taken and video footage captured by you and request that certain photographs and/or footage are deleted if they are deemed to be offensive to or infringe the privacy of other guests and/or staff.

8.4 By accepting these terms and conditions, you agree not to intentionally photograph and/or capture video footage of any individual without that person’s permission, and you must adhere to all photography/filming restrictions in place from time to time whilst on site.

8.5 Commercial filming and photography id not permitted unless prior permission is granted. This will always be time limited and specific. To request permission, please contact marketing@shuttleworth.org

9. Our liability

9.1 Shuttleworth accepts no responsibility for any loss and/or damage suffered by you as a result of any event outside our control (including any distress, inconvenience, anxiety or loss of enjoyment arising from the evacuation of the site). This does not affect your statutory rights.

9.2 Vehicles are parked at the owners’ risk. We take no responsibility for damage caused to any vehicle using the site and no guarantee is given as to the security of guests’ vehicles on site or any contents. Excluding those booked into our camp site, no vehicles are permitted to remain on site outside the site’s normal operating hours.

10. Security

10.1 To prevent offensive weapons or dangerous articles from being brought onto the site, you are admitted to the site subject to the condition that, if requested to do so, you will allow yourself and/or your belongings to be searched.

10.2 It is prohibited to bring onto site any weapons, fireworks, sparklers, smoke bombs, glass bottles or other articles which may cause injury. The throwing of any article which could cause injury or affect the enjoyment of other guests is strictly prohibited. Any person found to be in possession of an article deemed to be offensive or dangerous will be immediately escorted from the site without any right to a refund and we reserve the right to make reports to the relevant authorities which may lead to prosecution.

10.3 The use of illegal substances is strictly prohibited and any persons found possessing, using or who appear to be under the influence of illegal substances will be refused admission or escorted from the site without any right to a refund.

10.4 CCTV cameras are used on site. However, we do not make any representation as to the extent of coverage provided by the cameras. All items, belongings and other property brought onto site by you are at your own risk and we accept no liability for any loss or damage to such property. As such, we recommend that you do not bring valuables onto site.
