Welcome to the House Party

The House volunteer team - what an excellent crew!
But do you know what we actually do?

Away from the gardens and wheels and wings
we do all manner of important things.
We trawl through the archives, research and display.
It seems we discover new things every day.

Many hours are given to ensure that we
give our visitors plenty to hear and to see.
Visitors are welcomed at the door
and are free to wander and explore.
The knowledgeable guides with stories to tell
describe and explain the history so well.

Displays and artefacts often reflect
the theme of the air shows, so people connect
the House, it’s heritage and it’s role
in relation to Shuttleworth Trust as a whole.

And should our visitors want to know more
they can sign up for a fully guided tour.
As for the kids; to parental delight
there are many activities to engage and excite.

A visit to Shuttleworth House is a must
to discover the story of the family and Trust.
In the stunning house where it all began
we strive to give the best experience we can.

Our passion and enthusiasm clearly shine through
…… and I guess that’s why we do what we do!
