Statue of Fidelity Returns to Swiss Garden
On Friday 5 December, we welcomed The Statue of Fidelity (a statue that illustrates a symbol of loyalty and faithfulness) back to Swiss Garden. We believe the Fidelity statue once lived in Swiss Garden back in the early nineteenth century, when Lord Ongley lived in the house. Although, little information is known about how long the original Fidelity statue was there, or what happened to the artwork. It could have been that the artwork was damaged during the 1970s when the Swiss Garden fell into disrepair.
The Diana of Gabii Statue was unveiled in the Swiss Garden at the beginning of 2025, and similar to the Fidelity statue, not much is known about why the statue was lost.
