Remembrance Weekend at Shuttleworth House

Please note: guided tours for this event have now sold out but you can still visit the House for all of our other activities (and to explore the House at your leisure) for FREE all weekend.

Join us as we remember those who defended our country.

This Remembrance weekend, Shuttleworth House will open its doors to let you explore a range of history exhibitions - including the House's time as a convalescent home during both WWI and WWII, guided tours* from our hugely knowledgeable volunteers as well as make-a-poppy activities for the young at heart.

Our bar will also be open both days serving teas, coffees and light refreshments.

On Sunday we will be observing a minute's silence as a mark of respect.

Live music & photographs

We will be treated to live piano music on Sunday, as well as a rolling display of imagery from Shuttleworth over the years.

Guided tours of Shuttleworth House

Our knowledgeable and engaging volunteers will lead you on a guided tour of Shuttleworth House, informing you of the history of the building and the Shuttleworth family. Tours are £10 per person.

Younger visitors can enjoy some fantastic interactive activities, including:

Bandage a teddy
Colouring sheets

Bofors Anti Aircraft Gun

Take control of this interactive exhibit for a taste of anti aircraft machinery. Our volunteers have tailored this so it can be operated by ages 3 - 93.
