Accessibility

We endeavour to be accessible to all here at Shuttleworth.

If you require a carer ticket, please contact enquiries@shuttleworth.org

We have eight marked disabled parking spaces near our Hill Lane entrance (SG18 9DT ///decorator.thus.branching) which are available on daily admission days. Further parking is available opposite hangars 3 - 6. This is a bit of a walk from our main entrance and is on gravel.

For air shows, entering via Alder Drive (SG18 9DT ///forks.extension.drums), there is dedicated parking for blue badge holders in a space that is central to the air show event area.

There are accessible toilets in the following locations across the site: Visitor Centre, Runway Café, between Hangars 3 and 4 and Swiss Garden.

Our warm and spacious Visitor Centre offers plenty of seating and can be accessed via a ramp.

The Collection hangars have ramps throughout as well as occasional seating. There are toilets, including an accessible toilet, in a central block midway through the hangars.

The nine acre Swiss Garden has accessible paths and seating throughout. There is a dedicated toilet block.  Service dogs are permitted in the Garden.

Our Woodland Walk is generally accessible for all, but please bear in mind this is a walk around a Grade II* historic venue, grounds and gardens with many level changes. Some areas may not be accessible for wheelchair and mobility scooters.

The main entrance to Shuttleworth House is via six steps (without handrails). Due to the listed status of the building we are unable to install handrails. Wheelchair access is via Reception with internal wheelchair lifts to other floors.

The Flat at Shuttleworth and Garden Suite is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.

All rooms are located on the first floor via staircase only – rooms 12, 14, 15 are 16 are then a further level up from the first floor.

We advise all guests with limited mobility requirements to get in contact with our team for further information and advice on accessibility within the property.

Service animals are welcome across the site.
