The foundation stone of a new mansion was laid a few days ago in the Park. The ceremony was performed by Mrs. Shuttleworth. The new house, which occupies the site of the old one previously belonging to Lord Ongley, is being built by Messrs W Cubitt & Co, London from designs by Mr H C Clutton. Mr W Bennison is Clerk of Works.
Our knowledgeable and engaging volunteers will lead you on a guided tour of Shuttleworth House, informing you of the history of the building and the Shuttleworth family. Tours are £10 per person.
